A Fungus Garden in Parque Forestal is part of the exhibition Del Cielo al Agua y lo que está en el Centro, which brings together a selection of 15 projects that have participated in the Ars Electronica Festival, between 2018 and 2022, curated by Joselyne Contreras and Valentina Montero. Given the heterogeneity of the submissions, the proposal seeks an expanded reading of the Chilean participation in the festival.

A series of common factors made it possible to map the thematic recurrences, questions and strategies posed by the different artistic investigations, one of the most eloquent aspects being the insistence on addressing the notion of ecosystem; where the human, the non-human and more than human unfold in a concert of biological and mineral organisms coexisting with circuits, algorithms, cables.

The sample was organized taking as a reference the search for both material and conceptual relationships between the proposals; the notion of nature and ecosystem, the critical use of the media to think about our present, build our collective memory linked to the latest political and social events, are some of the directions that framed the exhibition.
