This investigation pursues the exploration and experimentation of a new bio-based material, consisting in the use of Trameter Versicolor fungi mycelium and fruit industry residues, namely, Juglans Regia walnut shells. The investigation is exploratory, which means that the conformation process and composition of the bio-based material was evaluated in order to establish a constructive method for it. In this way, laboratory tests conducted on the material revealed its physical and mechanical behaviors, allowing for a characterization and posterior evaluation of the material. Based on this, the investigation is looking into the possible fields of design in which the use of this bio-based material can be projected and developed.
